What is Seaverses?

On my morning beach walks I photograph the same stretch of the English coast: the same sea, the same sky, the same frame. Seaverses is that ongoing photograph, in colour and monochrome, alongside a journal about leaving a well-established career to start a new, independent one.

I'm a documentary filmmaker. I spent years building a successful film studio, and I've recently left it to pursue work that is more personal than commercial. I’m beginning with a feature film that I'm making largely alone, with no budget. This journal is about the process of building an independent creative life, and trying to make it a success.

Right now that means a film. In time it may mean writing, video work and other activities that keep the whole thing afloat.

Severses is for people who make things, or want to — filmmakers, writers, anyone drawn to independent work and curious how it really gets done. If you like watching something begin and develop, please join.
